Dear SLTBR Members,

This is a reminder notice for the SLTBR operating grant competition. This grant was made possible through the generous support of Lumie.

The deadline for submission is Sept. 30, 2008.

Please click here to download the 2 page application form which is self-explanatory.

The guidelines are as follows:

1. The maximum amount is Euros 15,000 (about $20,000 U.S.).

2. The grant provides no indirect costs, and applicants should clear institutional approval and indirect cost waiver before submitting.

3. The grant will be made to your Institution, not directly to the investigator

4. The grant is to be awarded for the purpose of research into:
a) New or more advanced applications for light therapy; or
b) New or improved methods of delivering light therapy;

5. Lumie will make equipment available for use in the research, within reason, if requested by the grantee. This is not however a condition of the grant. Details can be obtained via the "corporate members" link to the left of this page.

6. SLTBR will appoint a panel to judge the award. All submissions will go to SLTBR directly. The judging process will be independent from Lumie.

7. Lumie will receive confidential copies of all submissions so that they can make contact with the applicants.

8. Members of the award panel should not also sit on the Litebook award panel (or other major grant of a similar nature).

9. Winners of the Litebook grant competition in a given calendar year will be excluded from consideration in order to avoid replication of the award.

For the grant itself:

1. Briefly describe your proposal including background, rationale, hypothesis, methods and significance. Two pages maximum are allowed using a minimum font of 12 and margins of 1 inch. No condensed typing or spacing is allowed.

2. Please include a separate budget page.
